Traveling to Berlin

The city of Berlin, Germany is around the river Spree in the Province, the federal state of Brandenburg. Berlin is the capital of Germany and has undergone tremendous changes over the past 100 years. Now is a thriving modern city and exciting, welcoming both tourists and business visitors. Since the Second World War, the city has changed in modern times, having suffered the Second World War in much of Europe.

Much of Berlin has been rebuilt, restored or rejuvenated and there are still some wonderful architecture, both ancient and new, side by side. There are several tourist information offices located in downtown Berlin and these provide an update on the Berlin tourist attractions, museums, events, festivals, tours, sightseeing in Berlin and tourism in general.

With so much to see and do, the city has become a popular destination for visitors and there is a good selection of hotels, which vary in price depending mainly on the area where accommodation is situated in Berlin. The luxury hotels in Berlin were widespread throughout the city, although there are many hotels that offer good budget accommodation for those who wish for economy during his stay in Berlin.

When the Berlin Wall was destroyed is 1989 this was a huge turning point for the city, this is divided by more than 28 years. East and West Berlin are now consolidated, but still no sign of division in these areas. There are countless landmarks throughout the city and the tourist attractions of Berlin are, the Fernsehturm Television Tower, the tallest structure in the city, with a revolving restaurant, Potsdamer Platz, one of the busiest squares in Europe full of shops, bars, cafes and entertainment venues, Checkpoint Charlie, probably the most famous of the old Berlin Wall and the Reichstag, German parliament building. The city is full of information about Berlin’s history, with museums such as Museum Island, a complex of five museums that contain many important collections and the Egyptian Museum, with archaeological artifacts from 6,000 years old. There are also numerous art galleries in Berlin, where tourists can see sculptures, ancient and modern works of world famous artists like Van Gogh, Cezanne and Picasso.

The Tiergarten is Berlin’s central park and a green oasis covers a vast area of over 630 hectares acres/252. This is a beautiful park and is a popular place to entertain Berliners come away from city life. With established gardens, trees, flowers, coffee and beer garden, there is even a secluded area reserved for nudists, who often come here to sunbathe in peace and tranquility.

Berlin is a relaxed city with an exciting atmosphere and a strong sense of change. Tourism is becoming big business, suggesting that despite Berlin’s troubled past, this city has great future ahead of!

The “Megacity” in Toronto

The Canada’s largest city, Toronto is the capital of Ontario and is a lively and exciting metropolis. Toronto is a major economic center and home to many spectacular buildings and impressive skyscrapers.

Site of the University of Toronto and a number of districts compact, Toronto is a city of art and culture, also some large shopping centers, numerous nightclubs, restaurants and lively, often provide rest areas for outdoor season . Toronto has become noticeably more relaxed in recent years and this is reflected in the city.
As for accommodation, this depends largely on their specific travel needs and budget. Toronto hotels are particularly concentrated in the downtown district around Brampton, Markham, Mississauga, and Pickering, close to many attractions such as restaurants, shopping and nightlife. Other popular accommodation options in Toronto and include breakfast around Toronto’s Cabbagetown, Chinatown and Greektown district. There are more hotels that are located on the shores of Lake Ontario and near the vicinity of Toronto Pearson International Airport.

Tourism in Toronto is thriving, with many hotels and local businesses. The main tourist information office in the city of Toronto is the Toronto Tourism Center between Yonge Street and York Street. It offers a good selection of tourist information, brochures and maps.

The CN Tower is famous for being very tall structure with an observation deck and revolving restaurant offers superb panoramic views over Toronto and beyond. La Casa Loma, a castle is truly unique in downtown Toronto, with almost 100 rooms, extensive gardens with fountains, and guided tours. New Toronto City Hall, is a stylish contemporary building that dates back to 1965, with two towers, a bronze Henry Moore sculpture and an outdoor public space as a skating rink, and Ontario Place, which is an attraction park summer for the whole family, standing next to Lake Ontario, with fast rides and entertainment.

We can not forget to mention your art and culture in the city. Some of Toronto’s main museums and art galleries are:

Art Gallery of Ontario, was one of the finest art museums in Canada, with many important paintings and works of art, standing in the Chinatown of Toronto. Campbell House Museum is a Georgian-style house, which contains many important artifacts and local historical features. Museum of Television in Toronto, full of articles and information on all things television, many with impressive collections and research centers, and the Royal Ontario Museum, highly valued in Toronto and Ontario, known for its extensive collection Indian parts and exposures from Egypt.

The tourist attractions located near Toronto include: Woodbine Racetrack, an important race track located in Etobicoke, near the downtown district of Toronto and entrance is free. The Toronto Zoo, is very respected and considered one of the best zoos in the world, with over 5,000 animals and gardens. The Toronto Islands, which consists of three islands, the Island Center, Ward Island and Hanlon Point, visited for a short trip by ferry, with recreational activities. The Centerville Amusement Park, and Scarborough Thomson Memorial Park, are the other places recommended.

Art Gallery of Ontario, Toronto

With the recent opening of the Art Gallery of Ontario (AGO) this cosmopolitan city attracts attention not only for lovers of contemporary art (the new wing, fourth floor, is dedicated only to art events from the decade of the sixties to date), but fans of Frank Gehry, renowned architect, certainly a native of Toronto, in charge of this renovation.

AGOAnd as all its buildings, the AGO also spectacular in size and by the use of materials, has become the new hub of the city. Visible from many perspectives, this massive vessel merges with Lake Ontario and dialogues with the artistic and avant-garde neighborhood that protects from the early twentieth century.
